WIP Update
Now that I have a version of ‘Immortals & Ink’ that I’m happy with, I’ve been tinkering away with a few of my outstanding book ideas. This week, I have tentatively settled on the next ‘Order of Anubis’ book. I 100% blame Alexis and Arslan for it as well. It turns out, once I’m in that world, I become very fucking reluctant to leave it. Writing the novella opened up a big well of new ideas and energy, and I have to follow it where it leads.
I know I showed you all a new Tarot Kings world cover at the end of last year, but my Gio story just isn’t coming together the way I want it. I need to do some more research and try to figure that one out. It will happen. Gio, Arkon, and everyone else won’t let me sit on it forever, trust me.
At this time, with me still managing and trying to finalize my parents’ estates, I really don’t want to force my creativity into places that will just frustrate me. It wants to stay in Istanbul, and my Crow Brain has decided that it really wants to know what Kerem’s deal is. I’m tentatively calling it ‘A Dance of Thieves and Oracles’ and digging through my fave Bettany Hughes book on Istanbul again. Expect shenanigans and lots of magic, Arslan, Kahil, Zoe, and all the rest. If you don’t know who all those people are, please check out ‘A City of Hearts and Feathers.’ While I’m aiming to have this series be interconnected stand-alones, they will be more fun to read in order.
Other projects
In addition to the new book, I am also working on two different essays/blogs about tricksters. It’s Gemini season that is ruled by Hermes, whom I love with a feral intensity (and will also feature in the new OOA), and it feels like the right time to bring these two out of the half-written pile and finish them off. I’m hoping to get the first one out next weekend so we’ll see how I go.

I am in France now and I stumbled upon an eastern christian cross symbol that has all the Constantinople vibes and I really want to travel there!😍😍 This world is amazing and we need more More MORE! of it.
Soo jealous you are in France! I’ve been watching the Monaco Grand Prix this week and lamenting that I’m not in Europe. The Eastern Orthodox churches are so gorgeous. Istanbul is always incredible, but the best place for Byzantine History, specifically, I’ve found is the Byzantine and Christian Museum in Athens. It has over 25,000 pieces and is truly spectacular. There are some great museums in Istanbul, but the ones I went to skipped the Byzantine era altogether.
