Didn’t I tell you that a new magicians story was closer than you thought? Here it is! A winter solstice novella that I wasn’t sure would ever come into being.
Here is a quick blurb:
Penelope should know that any holiday with the Magicians isn’t going to be normal…
Penelope wants to stay on a boat, diving for whatever is calling to her in the buried remnants of Atlantis. Unfortunately, no matter how much you hate Christmas, breaking a promise to a group of immortals is a bad idea. It’s been months since the battle with Thevetat, and the magicians are still reeling from the losses they suffered. It’s time to come together and celebrate the Winter Solstice in a way only the magicians can.
Alexis decides what they need to heal their hurts is to revive the Atlantean solstice tradition of the Dark Labyrinth, a way to shed the shadows of the year and bring in light for the spring. But magical labyrinths have minds of their own, and when gods get involved, all bets are off.
Please note that this novella contains adult themes, violence, and sex scenes.

As you know, I’ve had a bunch of magicians stories I’ve wanted to write for years and now I finally can! To say I was nervous to jump back into this world after five years is an understatement. These characters never left my head, but I was tentative (procrastinating) to try pen them again. I re-released the series in May, and I was still dragging my feet writing it in September. I went to Santorini/Thera in September and to Akrotiri, one of my bucket list places, and was incredibly overwhelmed and in awe the whole time I was there.
Readers of the magicians will know that the Cyclades islands holds a special place in my heart, and being there made my whole body vibrate with excitement. I sat in front of an ancient frescoe of the goddess Potnia Asasarame (she has a few names depending what island you are on) just staring in awe for a long enough time that I think I made security nervous. I had a feeling that the goddess was silently telling me to get off my ass and start writing magicians again because she was tired of waiting and had enough of my bullshit.
That afternoon, thoroughly chastised, I sat watching the sun fall over the caldera. And then, I finally picked up my pen to write ‘The Dark Labyrinth.’ I’ll never forget the rightness of the moment, that in all of the places in the world, this was the place to begin my journey back to Alexis, Penelope and the others again.
I hope you all enjoy this novella, and don’t worry, there will be more stories coming in the future. I have a feeling the goddess won’t let me drag my feet on the next instalment.

And here is the sunset over the Caldera.

I hope you all have a relaxing holiday season,
